Industrial Automation Supply was born in 1993 as a modest, three-person electrical controls and automation components distributor with a focus on serving the Original Equipment Manufacturers market in New England. It has grown into a 25-person business with a burgeoning Systems Group, dedicated inside stales staff, a road-tested sales team, and and applications engineers who work closely with customers to help solve electrical control and automation challenges. IAS was founded with an earnest desire to improve the three-way dance of the vendor-distributor-customer relationship. Over the following three decades, IAS strengthened that foundation, allowing us to build significant, long-lasting relationships with our customers - strengthened by our rock-solid partnerships with our vendors.

IAS also expanded its capabilities in 2017 with the launch of its UL 508-certified Systems Group, which designs, prices, and builds control panels for customers across a wide range of industries. From one-off custom panels to repeat builds made to customer specifications, the Systems Group has become an important part of IAS’s offering.

In June 2026, IAS entered an exciting new chapter as part of Airline Hydraulics Corp. The acquisition brought together IAS’s strong regional presence in electrical controls and automation with Airline’s broader industrial technology expertise, inventory, engineering support, and service capabilities.

While IAS is now part of Airline, the same customer-first approach remains at the heart of the business. Customers can continue to count on the IAS team for the technical know-how, responsive support, and automation solutions they have trusted for decades — now backed by the added strength and resources of Airline.
